Why implants

Missing teeth cause more problems than most people realize

A gap in your smile isn't just cosmetic. Missing teeth commonly lead to:

  • ✓Difficulty chewing and speaking
  • ✓Lack of confidence caused by an embarrassing gap in your smile
  • ✓Build-ups of plaque and bacteria in the gaps created by shifting teeth, making oral hygiene more difficult
  • ✓Gradual development of tooth decay, cavities, and/or gingivitis

Professionally placed implants solve all of these problems by providing a permanent replacement that improves your appearance and makes proper oral hygiene easy again.

What does it cost?

Dental implants range from $1,000–$5,000. Because an implant is a permanent solution that can last a lifetime with proper care, it often costs no more than a series of bridges or partial dentures that need replacing several times.

If paying out-of-pocket isn't an option, we're happy to discuss flexible financing so you can get the best implant care modern dentistry offers at a manageable cost.

How it works

Implant surgery in three comfortable steps

1

The implant is placed

Dr. Krothapalli places a small titanium implant in the jawbone, using local or general anesthetic. Over about six months, the bone fuses to the implant.

2

A post is added

In the second phase, a post is attached to extend the implant. This becomes the base of your new tooth.

3

Your new tooth goes on

Once the gum tissue has healed, a custom dental crown is installed on top. It looks, feels, and functions just like a natural tooth.

Mini implants for smaller gaps

For smaller gaps and tight spaces where a full implant would be difficult, we also offer mini implants — a great way to stabilize lower dentures and prevent shifting. Roughly half the width of regular implants, they sit less deeply in the jawbone, so the procedure is less invasive with a quicker recovery. Dr. Krothapalli can place MDI mini implants in as little as 90 minutes with minimal anesthetic.

Common questions

Dental implant FAQs

Straight answers to the questions we hear most from patients in Nashua and nearby towns.

What exactly is a dental implant?

A dental implant is a small titanium post that is placed in the jawbone where a tooth is missing. The bone fuses to the implant, and a custom crown is attached on top — so it looks, feels, and works like your natural tooth.

How long does the implant process take?

Implant treatment usually happens in three steps. After the implant is placed, the jawbone fuses to it over about six months. A post is then added, and once the gum heals, your final crown is installed. Mini implants can often be placed in a single 90-minute visit.

How much do dental implants cost in Nashua?

Dental implants typically range from $1,000 to $5,000 per tooth. Because an implant can last a lifetime with proper care, it often costs less over time than bridges or partial dentures that need replacing. We offer flexible financing options to make treatment manageable.

Are implants better than dentures or a bridge?

For most patients, yes. Unlike a bridge, an implant doesn't rely on neighboring teeth for support, and unlike dentures it never slips or affects your speech. Implants are also easier to keep clean and help preserve your jawbone.

Does getting a dental implant hurt?

The procedure is done with local or general anesthetic, so you stay comfortable throughout. Most patients report less discomfort than they expected and return to normal activities quickly. Mini implants are even less invasive with a faster recovery.

Am I a candidate for dental implants?

Adults of all ages and conditions can be candidates for implants. The best way to know is a consultation with Dr. Krothapalli, who will examine your jawbone and gums and recommend the right option — including mini implants for smaller gaps or to stabilize dentures.
